Very brief update from last nights committee meeting -
Gary Tetlow this seasons U14's coach came along and gave an uplifting account of the junior situation. He gets so many players coming along to training that next season he is considering running U15 and U16 teams. The club hopes to help him by trying to find some help in the shape of assistant coaches, volunteers etc. It looks like the RFL will be forming a Tier 4, two league (East & West) National Conference South League. They have approached all the clubs in the London Premiership and the four clubs that appeared in the East Premiership Grand Final and London League 1 Grand Final and asked them to consider joining the Nat Conf South (East) league. December 8th is the date they will be announcing the make up of the leagues. The Cents will be staying in the East League next season, but announced their intention of a 2 year plan to get into the National Conference South by 2021. A number of players attended a players only meeting last month with team manager Tony Bottomley and put forward ideas and recommendation to the committee. We were glad to accept the following suggestions - the signing on fee will be £125 per player and cover all costs and stash, there will be no match day fee, students will pay £50, the strict 'no pay no play' rule will be continued, and there will be a social event on the registration evening, and social events after pre, middle and end of season home games. We are looking to get a covered venue for pre season training and dates of preseason and registration evening will be posted on here as soon as arranged. Further discussion included, club finances, strip, equipment, recruitment etc. Our yearly AGM will be held in February - date to be confirmed. Remember - as soon as we know anything, it will be posted here. Comments are closed.
